Meetings
In the center of the room lies an ornate cedar wood desk, cluttered but just short of messy, with various sheet music piled on top. The bookcases on each side are in a similar state, books shelved away neatly were it not for the lack of any semblance of alphabetization.
The boss of this domain can often be found with his feet up with no regard for decorum; a casual enough atmosphere for casual enough chats, surely.
Those who venture into the palace to seek out the emerald green door will find it's different than usual, sturdier, with a particularly bright sheen and emblazoned with an insignia.
The door is also always closed, though whether it's locked or not depends on when you visit.

In any case, he sets his cup down onto the edge of Hamelin's desk and makes his way toward the bookshelves. ]
The scattered pages. Lucilius' mind was always at work, he would often leave piles of papers and reports around. [ More the residential area than the proper lab, really. Lucifer raises a hand to the bookcases, as if to grab a book. Then he stops to look at Hamelin. ]
May I?

It's what happens when you have a lot of free time on your hands. [ It's largely sheet music with assorted scribbles so not really reports per se, but perhaps the concept is the same. He looks over to Lucifer with a tilt of his head. ]
Sure. I use 'em as paperweights more than anything else. [ Lucifer has his pick from assorted musical books and numerous copies of fairy tales he's probably seen in the library. Several copies of Cinderella are slightly offset from the rest. ]

So it is. [ He ponders thatβand ponders Lucilius' age before pulling one of the books from the shelf and turning back to Hamelin.
It's just a random fairy tale, nothing specific caught his eye so he decided to take one of the older-looking books. He idly (and carefully) flips through the pages. ]
Do you dislike reading, Hamelin?
no subject
I wouldn't say that, just was never really into it. Fishing, hunting and all that kinda stuff is more my kinda thing.
no subject
That's unexpected. I thought from the state of your office you would have preferred to stay indoors.
Next time, would you like to go for a walk together?

[ Another sip of coffee. ]
This isn't some plot to get me outta here, is it?
no subject
??? ]
What do you mean?
no subject
"When the cat's away the mice will play?"
no subject
[ Lucifer shakes his head lightly. ]
Perhaps I'll bring you something instead.

[ back to the coffee again, though it's still slow going. ]
Oh? Like what?
no subject
[ Maybe Hamelin likes spiders? That almost feels like regifting, not that he knows what that is. More pressingly, though... He pauses and then finds himself asking a new question. ]
... Do you dislike angels?
[ Or maybe not know a lot about them?? This is the second time Hamelin's talked about them. ]
no subject
Hm? No, no, no it's nothing like that. But I never thought I'd actually meet one who seemed to be the real deal. With fairy tales, there's usually more goin' on there, yeah?
no subject
And I believe that brings an end to my questions for today. Thank you for taking the time to speak with me, Hamelin.

[ Hamelin will have to deal with the clean-up on his own because Lucifer leaves, seemingly having forgotten all about them. ]
